Dom is a Multimedia Producer and Digital and Communications Director at Grid Smarter Cities. He formally worked as a TV Producer at the sports production company Sunset+Vine, and also works across a number of accessibility and inclusion projects. He founded the award winning blog tinymanblog.com.
Dom was born in St Albans with a rare form of Osteogenesis Imperfecta, more commonly known as Brittle Bones, which meant from birth he was a fragile and unusually shaped package.
After leading an incredibly normal and adventurous childhood (and before gallivanting off to University), Dom and his closest mates embarked on a European Inter-railing adventure, filmed by TwoFour Productions for Channel 4 to make the self-titled documentary, 'Crip on a Trip'. This documentary went on to win two RTS awards for best Educational Programme and best Regional Documentary.
After Studying Management at Warwick University Dom briefly worked in advertising before successfully applying for the 2010 C4 Production Trainee Scheme.
He was placed at Sunset+Vine, the countries leading Independent Sports Production Company, and very soon was working on varied productions including the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Paralympic Games for C4 as well as the digital media output for the IOC.
Dom met with the former Prime Minister, David Cameron during is work with the DWP to help promote the 2013 ‘Disability Confident’ campaign and shortly after became founding editor of the Power100 - the first ever publicly distributed Power List of Disability, now an annual publication.
In 2015, Dom joined technology start up Grid Smarter Cities as Digital and Communications Director, looking to revolutionise assistance for for disabled travellers when going from A to B with their app assist-Mi. Grid have grown to offer an eco-system of smart but simple solutions that have the power to change how we live and work in our cities for the better.
Dom continues to develop, create and edit numerous films and digital content for various corporate clients, as well as provide accessibility and inclusion consultancy, particularly to the technology and hospitality sectors.
